How to pass Prøve i Dansk 2 (PD2)

Prøve i Dansk (PD2)

Passing the Prøve i Dansk 2 (PD2) exam is a significant milestone for learners of Danish, designed to assess your ability to understand and use Danish in common, everyday situations. Prøve i Dansk 2 (PD) is also the exam you need to pass if you will apply for permanent residency in Denmark.

To succeed, you need a solid foundation in four key areas: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written production, and oral communication, all underpinned by practical grammar and vocabulary.

Here on SpeakAndLearn we can help you to get prepared for the exam, so you feel confident signing up for the exam. By means of private lessons we will together work on improving your skills on every aspect as described here below.

During the lessons we will also practice the actual exam process, so you can feel well prepared.

To get started we recommend that you book a trial lesson, during which we will discuss and plan in detail how to continue.

The listing here below describes what is needed to pass the exam and will thus also be the basis for the content in the lessons:

Reading Comprehension (Læseforståelse)

You must be able to understand the main points and specific details of simple texts related to everyday life, such as short articles, emails, public notices, and advertisements. This requires a good working vocabulary and the ability to infer meaning from context.

Listening Comprehension (Lytteforståelse)

The ability to grasp the main ideas and specific details in short, clear, and slow-paced spoken Danish is crucial. This includes understanding conversations about daily routines, simple instructions, and announcements.

Written Production (Skriftlig fremstilling)

You’ll be expected to write short, coherent texts on familiar topics, such as a personal letter, an email, or a description, using basic grammatical structures and appropriate vocabulary. Accuracy in verb conjugations, sentence construction, and common expressions is vital.

Oral Communication (Mundtlig kommunikation)

This section assesses your ability to participate in simple conversations, ask and answer questions about personal information, and express opinions on familiar topics. Fluency, clear pronunciation, a reasonable vocabulary for daily interactions, and the ability to maintain a basic dialogue are key.
